Upcoming Hybrid MAZDA Vehicles

The Mazda brand is known for its automotive innovations and industry ingenuity, including  Mazda hybrid vehicles that began as concept models. Here is a list of our upcoming sustainable vehicles.

MAZDA MX-5 Miata

Mazda developers have confirmed that an all-electric or hybrid Mazda MX-5 Miata is in the works. This is part of the manufacturer’s plan to have every one of its models have an electric or hybrid variation by 2030.

Beyond this confirmation, there isn’t much else known at this moment. Most analysts suspect a hybrid is more likely because Mazda MX-5 Miata is a roadster known for its lightweight. Going the all-electric route will significantly add to its base weight.

MAZDA CX-50 Hybrid

The Mazda CX-50 is another model confirmed to be receiving a hybrid version. While not verified, the model is suspected to receive a conventional gasoline-powered engine mated to two electric motors.

The Mazda CX-50 is actually a precursor for other upcoming models, including the Mazda CX-60 and Mazda CX-70 among others. These are slated for a release by 2024 and are also expected to have hybrid variants.

MAZDA CX-30 Hybrid

The Mazda CX-30 Hybrid is also on its way to the market, and it’s worth mentioning because it provides an insight into what future hybrid and electric vehicles might entail. This model includes a base 2.5-liter Skyactiv-G® four-cylinder engine, with an option to upgrade to the 2.5 -liter Turbo Premium Plus engine.
