Performance

The 2024 Mazda CX-50 has two engine options. By default, it has a 2.5-liter, inline four-cylinder gasoline engine with 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque. It can tow up to 2,000 lbs.

From the Turbo trim onward, it has a 250-horsepower engine with 320 lb-ft of torque, and its towing capacity rises to 3,500 lbs. This engine is more powerful and better suited for off-roading. Both engine options pair with a six-speed automatic transmission.

Mazda Intelligent Drive Select

Mazda Intelligent Drive Select (Mi-Drive) grants access to three driving modes. Normal mode functions best on paved roads. The Sport mode creates a fun driving experience, but does not function well on rocky roads, the Off-Road mode increases traction and engine performance to make traversing a trail easier and safer.

The available optional Towing mode keeps the vehicle stable while towing a trailer.

i-ACTIV AWD® uses factors like your driving behaviors and environmental conditions to alter torque sent to each wheel and stop the tires from slipping. It analyzes the external temperature to anticipate ice formation and adjusts braking and torque in response to actions like acceleration and turning.

G-Vectoring Control Plus

G-Vectoring Control Plus applies the brakes during certain situations to smooth out your ride. When changing lanes or turning corners, for instance, it brakes slightly on the side opposite to your turning direction and increases torque delivered to the rear wheels.
