Mazda CX-5 Service and Maintenance Schedule

Oil Change

The Mazda CX-5 requires an oil change every 7,500 miles, or every 12 months, whichever one comes first. Use the motor oil type outlined in your user manual.

Also, keep in mind these figures pertain to normal driving conditions. Factors like frequent city driving or off-roading can stress the engine, leading to more rapid oil degradation.

Tire Rotation

Like the oil change, tire rotations also have a 7,500-mile interval. This is a good thing, since you can change your oil and rotate the tires in the same servicing appointment.

However, your vehicle may require a rotation sooner if you see uneven signs of tread wear between tires. Tire rotations also include a close-up inspection for signs of wear in the sidewall and air leaks in the valve stem.

Air Filter Change

The air filter in the Mazda CX-5 lasts for about 2.5 years or 37,500 miles. However, you should check the filter at least once a year. Pull it out and inspect it against a light source.

If the filter is visibly darkened, then it needs to be replaced. Signs of a dirty filter include engine misfiring, slow acceleration, and a drop in gas mileage.
